Press Release, GLPS SCADA now in Year 2000 mode (October 6, 1999): Due to the concerns of our customers regarding the year 2000 computer bug and the reliability of electrical power in Greene County, we would like to provide the following update on our progress in this matter. Employees at Greeneville Light & Power System, local power distributor for Greeneville and Greene County Tennessee, have completed testing the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) computers for Year 2000 (Y2K) readiness and are now running with year 2000 dates.
